UNITED STATES-BASED business strategist and executive coach Mr Michael Tendai Watyoka is set to return home to headline the Economic Emancipation Business Expo, Conference and Concert, an international business gathering aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, investment and economic empowerment.

The two-day event, organised by the ExG Institute of Business, will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on August 4 and 5 and is expected to attract business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers from across Africa and beyond.

Mr Watyoka will join an accomplished panel of regional and international speakers that includes Zimbabwean business executive Dr B. Moyo, South African entrepreneur Mrs Madalitso Alagwu, Zambian leadership expert Dr Daniel Kabani, United States-based business strategist Mr Mackenzie Kambizi and renowned Zimbabwean businessman Mr Nigel Chanakira.

The conference will feature business exhibitions, investment discussions, networking sessions and leadership development platforms, while delegates will also compete for a US$5 000 pitch competition prize. Organisers have also lined up an exclusive VIP Business Banquet as part of the programme.

Participants will pay US$185, which covers attendance at all conference activities, conference materials, lunch and refreshments.

Mr Watyoka is the founder and chief executive officer of GrowWise Wealth Builders, a business advisory firm that specialises in executive coaching, enterprise transformation and wealth creation strategies.

Known internationally for his work in organisational transformation and business scalability, Mr Watyoka advises chief executives and entrepreneurs on aligning leadership, systems and strategy to unlock sustainable growth.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr Watyoka said Zimbabwe possessed significant untapped entrepreneurial potential capable of driving national economic growth.

“Zimbabwe is home to resilient entrepreneurs with the capacity to build globally competitive businesses. What is needed is the development of systems, structures and leadership capabilities that allow enterprises to grow beyond survival and become sustainable wealth-generating institutions,” he said.

He said forums such as the Economic Emancipation Summit were critical in fostering collaboration between business leaders, investors and emerging entrepreneurs.

“Economic transformation is driven by knowledge, innovation and strategic partnerships. Events of this nature create opportunities for business leaders to share ideas, identify investment opportunities and accelerate enterprise development,” he said.

Organisers said the summit seeks to empower entrepreneurs through practical business knowledge, networking opportunities and access to investment ecosystems.

The event comes as Zimbabwe continues to prioritise private sector-led growth, industrialisation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of economic development under the country’s Vision 2030 agenda.

Industry analysts say the participation of speakers from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia and the United States is expected to provide delegates with valuable insights into global business trends, leadership excellence and enterprise growth strategies.

The Economic Emancipation Business Expo, Conference and Concert will culminate in a high-level VIP Business Banquet bringing together corporate leaders, investors and policymakers for further engagement on economic development and business opportunities.
