Parliament summons MPs, Senators to resume sitting

President Mugabe, Parliament’s presiding officers, in terms of Standing Order 187 and 194 of the Senate and the House of Assembly, recalled the Senate and House of Assembly to resume sitting.
“The recall will enable Parliament to consider the ratification of agreements and urgent public business.
“Therefore, all MPs are expected to attend Parliament from Tuesday the 7th of August 2012,” Mr Zvoma said.
Parliament had adjourned to September 3 after passing the Electoral Amendment Bill, the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission Bill and the Older Persons Bill.
Both the Upper and Lower Houses were expected to resume with the official opening of the Fifth Session of the Seventh Parliament.
