The committee, one of the two, is being led by Zaka North legislator Cde Ofias Murambiwa.
In an interview with Zimpapers, Cde Murambiwa said his committee covers five provinces, Bulawayo, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South, Mashonaland West and Mashonaland Central.

Cde Murambiwa said their public hearings are empowered in terms of Section 141 of the national Constitution which states that Parliament is required to involve the public when making a law.

“The Zimsec Act was enacted in 1994 and as such the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education felt a lot of changes have taken place in the Education sector since then and as such there is need to align the Act with those changes,” said Cde Murambiwa.

The committee was in Lupane, Matabeleland North yesterday.
