Parlour on Wenger

LONDON. — Ray Parlour fears Arsene Wenger will quit Arsenal if he fails to end their nine-year trophy drought by winning the FA Cup. With his new contract still unsigned, there are major question marks over Wenger’s future after another season full of failure. Last Sunday’s 3-0 thrashing at Champions League hopefuls Everton left Arsenal sweating on a top-four finish – and Parlour fears it may have taken a heavy toll on the 64-year-old.
The former Arsenal midfielder won nine major trophies with the club as a player but questions whether Wenger’s current squad have what it takes.

They face Wigan at Wembley today in a huge semi-final for the club — and Parlour believes defeat would spell the beginning of the end for the Frenchman.

Parlour (41) said: “It’s such an important week for Arsene Wenger as a manager. He looks like a broken man sometimes.
“He will have watched the Everton game over and over. He won’t have slept that night because he wants what’s best for the club.

“How many big games now have some of his players failed to turn up in? He will be trying to put that right. — Daily Star.
