In a statement, the party’s president Dr Gadzamwoyo Dewah said Zanu-PF was a repository of fundamental patriotic ethos, adding that the party was under the guidance of the visionary leadership of President Mugabe.
“It is my pleasure as the President of Good People’s Movement to make it a public and official statement that in the forthcoming harmonised elections, GPM is endorsing Zanu-PF as the party of choice,” he said.
He said GPM endorsed Cde Mugabe and Zanu-PF because the two parties share common views on western influence in the local politics.
“We feel we should not be an appendage of foreign aligned movements but be the real vanguards of the country in our pursuit of a genuine social, economic and political development in Zimbabwe.
We therefore support Zanu-PF in the forthcoming elections. As a party we wish to work with Zanu-PF and ensure the country becomes good,” he said.
“We have similar minds and vision. President Mugabe is our father-head and as children we would always come back to him for ideas and guidance. There is therefore no reason for GPM to be in friction with the mother party. GPM does not want to associate with surrogate puppetism.
