Mash West strategises

Mafa urged people to be vigilant and remain united.

“We have a big task ahead of us and as a party we have to come up with strategies that will see us romping convincingly to victory. This calls for unity because when we as leaders are united then the grassroots will also follow suit,” he said.

He said campaign regalia for the province was already available and called on the leaders to ensure that it cascades to the cell level. Campaigning, he said, should not be difficult as there was a lot that the party did before and after Independence before warning against violence.

The party, Cde Mafa said, should win the elections convincingly to avoid another GNU with parties that do not share the revolutionary ideals of Zanu-PF.

“We had this arrangement (unity Government) which we feel did not engender any meaningful development because there is always someone wanting to dismiss an idea for the sake of opposing,” he said.

The party should reclaim the six seats it lost in the province and consolidate in the areas it won. Turning to the queries emanating from the primary elections, he said they are being handled at the party’s national headquarters.
