Ian Chinyemba (21) of Unit F in Chitungwiza has since appeared before magistrate Mr Donald Masawi charged with murder.

Chinyemba was not asked to plead to the charge and was remanded in custody to July 5 and was advised to seek bail at the High Court.

According to the indictment papers, the now deceased was at a birthday party on June 15 at house number 15515 Unit P in the same town when Chinyemba and his friend arrived drunken.

They were holding a quart of beer each and Chinyemba allegedly headed for the PA system and started playing around with the cables, disturbing the music.

This prompted the now deceased, Webster Mushandu (18), to ask him to stop, but he continued tempering with the system.

The court heard that Mushandu charged towards Chinyemba who withdrew a sharp object and stabbed him.

Mushandu sustained a deep cut on the thigh and started bleeding profusely.
He was rushed to Chitungwiza Central Hospital where he was further referred to Parirenyatwa Hospital and died on arrival.
Mr Lovet Muringwa prosecuted.
