A talented soul has given in. Pastor Barak, the revered gospel singer and founder of Ship of Zion International Ministries, passed away on Wednesday night at a Bulawayo hospital, plunging the gospel music and church community into mourning.

He was 47.

As word of his death spread, tributes flooded social media, with fans and fellow musicians expressing shock and sorrow.

Speaking to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, family representative Elder Titus Kawadza confirmed the tragic news.
“It’s true our son, brother, and father has left us. As we await a post-mortem, early indications point to cancer-related complications,” he said solemnly.

Pastor Barak, born for both the pulpit and the stage, was known for blending powerful sermons with spirit-filled melodies. His music touched hearts across the country, and his messages of hope, faith, and healing drew multitudes both in and outside the church.
While his voice has gone silent, his music, especially his chart-topping anthem Wavuma, will continue to resonate. Industry insiders expect the song to dominate radio airwaves this weekend on Star FM, Skyz Metro FM, and Khulumani FM.

Mourners are gathered at 91 Percy Avenue, Hillside, Bulawayo, where friends, family, congregants, and fans are paying their respects.
