Gospel music outfit Pastor Barak Family says it is ready to deliver a memorable performance at the 2026 Ekhaya Worship Festival set for May 25 at Hartsfield Stadium in Bulawayo.
The group is made up of backing vocalists who ministered alongside the late Pastor Barak, including his wife Rachel Sibanda. The ensemble continues to preserve the late gospel musician’s legacy through music ministry.
The group’s music director is Ammisah Tyler Mhlanga, while the alto section features Rachel Sibanda, Rufaro Kawadza and Angela Dube. Soprano vocalists are Janet Kutsanzira, Primrose Ngwenya, Yolanda Ndlovu and Kupakwashe Zengeya.
The tenor section consists of Muzingaye Ncube, Siphosenkosi Moyo, Tinotenda Mhere, Welcome Moyo, Prince Mutete and Brandon Mathe. Internationally-based members in the United States are Alista Marowa and Esnath Nyuke, while sound engineers are Pritchard Ndlovu and Dalubuhle Nyandini.
Pastor Barak Family group manager Elder Chiunye said following Pastor Barak’s passing, the group resolved to continue advancing his vision through gospel music.
“To us, Pastor Barak was more than a leader; he was a father figure, and together we became a family. The love, unity and dedication he instilled in us have enabled the ministry to continue growing under the guidance of our music director, Tyler Mhlanga,” said Elder Chiunye.
He said the organising team, made up of Mr and Mrs Blessing Chiunye, Bridget Ngwenya and Mary Mukwaturi, has remained committed to ensuring the ministry continues flourishing under the leadership of Rachel Sibanda.
Elder Chiunye said the Pastor Barak Family was officially launched in January 2026, releasing songs recorded by Pastor Barak before his passing.
“The launch concert, themed The Continuing Influence, featured renowned gospel ministers including Everton Mlalazi, Canaan Nyathi, Ayanda Shange and Jonah Chivasa, alongside other local artistes,” he said.
He added that one of the group’s songs, Jesus Is Mine, is performing well on gospel charts.
Elder Chiunye also expressed gratitude to Everton Mlalazi for including the group on the Ekhaya Worship Festival line-up.
“The Ekhaya Worship Festival is a major platform, and it is an honour for us to be part of it. We encourage people to come and experience a powerful moment of praise and worship,” he said.
