THE late Gospel music superstar Pastor Barak will have his legacy revived through the launch of an annual tribute concert, meant to celebrate his life.
The event dubbed “The Legacy Lives On: Continuing the Influence,” will see its first edition held at a local auditorium on January 31.
A star studded line-up will entertain attendees, including South African Ayanda Shange, South African-based Canaan Nyathi, Everton Mlalazi, Jonah Chivasa, Vocal Ex, Kira, Elder Moses, Baba Wale, Siza Mdlongwa, Lorraine Maplanka, Voxy and Charity Mupondera.
Pastor Barak’s widow, Mrs Rachel Sibanda, said the event marks the start of a journey of cherishing the departed soul of a talented singer and a man of God.
She said the event will be an opportunity to also launch the unreleased works by her husband.
“My husband had an album which was about to be released, and we will release two songs on the day of the concert which are Jesus is Mine and Rudo RwaJesu.
“The seed that he planted in the music ministry, and even in the church, is bearing fruits. The works that he did will never die as we will continue to see great things through the foundation that he laid,” said Mrs Sibanda.
The talented endowed in the late Pastor Barak is shown with his hit track Hlala La which was number three in the 2025 Classic 263 Top 50 Gospel Chart show.
Pastor Barak, died on June 4, 2025, at the age of 49, after battling with cancer.
