A HARARE pastor has gone to court demanding $200 000 in child maintenance from her ex-husband.
Lucia Francisco said her ex-husband, Malvin Simbo, hadn’t paid school fees for their child since 2019, and last bought clothes and food in 2016.
“He is the director of Cousin Technology and earns a lot, so he should be able to cater for our needs.
“I just got fired from being a pastor of which l didn’t earn much.
“The amount on the payslip is fake Your Worship, he forged it since he is the director,” she said.
Simbo said he could not afford to pay that amount and instead offered to pay US$50.
“Your Worship, l am able to pay US$50 since l have 11 children, and eight are below the age of 18.
“I have been paying fees for my child directly to the school so she does not need that sum of money.
“I had to block her since she used to insult me every time I communicated.
“I have no access to my child, but l make sure l play my part as the father.”
Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire ordered Simbo to pay US$70 and continue paying fees directly to the school.
