PASTOR G: TWENTY FIVE YEARS AND COUNTING

Langalihle Mhiti

VETERAN gospel musician Pastor G is set to mark a quarter-of-a-century in the music industry.

He will launch a concert album dubbed ‘T55/25 Transformation’ on November 15.

The event, scheduled for his 55th birthday celebrations, will also celebrate 25 years of service in gospel music.

Pastor G revealed that the theme ‘Transformation’ is deeply personal and inspired by his own physical and spiritual journey.

“The theme came from a place of gratitude and reflection,” he said.

“It was inspired by my physical transformation, my health transformation.

“I’ve gone through a process of taking care of my body, my spirit, and my purpose and I felt the need to celebrate that with my audience.”

Pastor G said the event will not only be a musical celebration but also a testimony to the grace and consistency that have shaped his career.

“I’m grateful for the years that God has given me and the 25 years that I have served Him faithfully through music,” he said.

“It’s all by His grace that I’ve come this far without turning back.

“There were seasons where I thought of quitting, times when support was low, but I remembered why I started.

“I’ve seen God open doors at just the right time. And this celebration is for one of those doors,” he said.

The ‘T55/25 Transformation’ concert promises to be a moment of reflection, worship, and joyful celebration.

Pastor G hinted at collaborations and guest appearances from artists he has worked with over the years.

“I won’t give too much away but people can expect a powerful line-up,” he said.

“It’s not just about me. It’s about the community of musicians, the church, and everyone who has walked this journey with me.”

He also acknowledged the role of his supporters over the decades.

“The people who believed in me from the beginning, the churches that opened their doors, the radio presenters who played my first tracks, they are all part of this story.

“This is more than a concert.

“It’s a moment of thanksgiving. A reminder that with God, transformation is possible physically, spiritually, and creatively.”

The multi-award-winning artist is also launching his new album titled ‘‘Transformation’’ during the concert.

“This album is my heart. It carries songs that speak of change, endurance, and hope.

“It’s for anyone who’s walked through fire and come out refined.”

Reflecting on his career, Pastor G said longevity in the music ministry requires discipline, vision, and an unwavering commitment to one’s calling.

He also took time to share advice with upcoming gospel musicians.

“To the young gospel artists and those who want to serve God through music, I say this.

“Develop character. Be consistent in who you are.

“Be creative and understand how you want to present your music.

‘‘Don’t just follow trends. Be intentional about your message.” He added that the journey is not always smooth.

“It’s not all the time that people will praise your music. It’s not every time you’ll be recognised.

“But challenges should never shake you. What we need is consistency. That’s what has carried me through 25 years.”

The ‘‘T55/25’’ concert will stand not only as a celebration of milestones but as a declaration that gospel music in Zimbabwe remains a powerful force for change, inspiration and faith.
