PASTOR KAINDU’S MIRACLE COMES TO PASS

Sports Reporter

KELVIN Kaindu completed his Miracle to save  Dynamos from relegation after guiding the Glamour Boys to an unbeaten run, since he took over, as he ended his mission with a draw against FC Platinum at Rufaro yesterday.

DeMbare were the only member of the PSL Big Three who went into the final day of the season needing to fight to preserve their status in the top-flight league.

Highlanders, as H-Metro correctly declared two weeks ago, were safe because only an incredible turn of events, like Bosso losing 10-0 and all the other results going in favour of the other clubs in the dogfight, would see them go down.

In the end, Bosso didn’t even need to win their final game to survive and, as the table shows, they would still have secured their place in the PSL next season even if they had lost to Chicken Inn.

The two neighbours drew 1-1 at Barbourfields in a game whose highlight was the beautiful free-kick which was scored by Andrew Mbeba for the equaliser.

This means that another foreign coach, Dutchman Pieter de Jongh, has also completed his mission to keep one of the PSL giants in the top-flight league.

CAPS United secured their place in the top-flight league a few weeks ago and they ended their season with a comfortable 2-0 win at Kwekwe United.

It also means that another foreign coach, Zambian Ian Bakala, was able to complete his mission to ensure that one of the country’s Big Three clubs survived relegation.

However, all the three giants know that this was a wake-up call for them and their leaders will go into the off-season with a lot to think about.

The current season showed that the PSL landscape has changed and the new boys, who have a bigger financial muscle, are now calling the shots. Newboys Scottland won the championship, in their first season in the top-flight league, by SEVEN clear points.

Scottland ended their campaign on 69 points, 30 points above both Dynamos and Highlanders.

This means that the newboys could even have forfeited nine games and they would still have finished above the two giants by three clear points.

Greenfuel, Bikita Minerals and Yadah joined Kwekwe United among the relegated clubs.

One will have to spare a thought for Greenfuel.

They led in their showdown against Triangle, which saw them move above their Lowveld rivals, on the live log.

However, an equaliser from Triangle changed everything and, instead, it was Greenfuel who went down after a 1-1 draw.
