Pastor Matende, Dorcas Moyo combine forces

Praise Masvosva

GOSPEL musician Pastor Norest Matende has engaged the services of talented diva Dorcas Moyo in the praise song titled Matitungamirira.

The song, which was recorded by Lyton Ngolomi of Lyton Studios, is already on rotation on local radio stations.

In an interview, Pastor Matende said the track is a thanksgiving song.

“We are appreciating the love of God and that he guided us through 2022 despite the challenges we faced. Kupera kwerimwe gore nekutanga kwerimwe gore inyasha dzaMwari kurarama.

“The song appreciates God’s love. Last year we suffered several problems and setbacks, but with God’s intervention, we managed to sail through.

“Some of us were involved in road accidents, but with God’s mercy I am alive. So we are just thanking him for his kindness, but reminding people to always be grateful to God,” he said.

The Chitungwiza-based entertainer assured his fans of more music this year.

“I am planning to release two albums this year and the first one will be out in April and the second in October.

“I like to preach through song with the main aim being to win souls. So far I have three albums and I want to drop more songs to give hope and strengthen hearts of believers during these trying times.

“We are also going to have a proper album launch in April and October respectively,” he said.

“We are facing financial problems in setting up a studio, but we are motivated by the responses we are getting from music lovers.”

Pastor Matende, who is also the leader of the International Church of Jesus Christ, urged the young generation to shun drug abuse and other social evils.

“Time lost will never be regained and life is one chance. I urge the youths to stop drug abuse because they are harmful to their health.

“Drugs will also lead them to social evils like prostitution and disrespecting their elders, among others. Young people are the future leaders so if they consume drugs, what lesson will they teach the next generation.

“We will continue to release songs encouraging them to stop drug abuse. Life is precious and we need to be cautious in whatever we do,” he said.
