GOSPEL musician, Pastor Norest Matende, has released a song titled ‘Tipeio Simba’ which calls for God’s intervention in these trying times.

The song, which seeks to strengthen the hearts of believers, was recorded by talented producer Lyton Ngolomi of Lyton Studios.

In an interview, the entertainer said he was urging people to invite the presence of God into their lives.

“The song Tipeio Simba is a prayer to God so that He can deliver us from all evil.

“The song also talks of salvation and we are asking for His mercy.

“I am encouraging people to submit their lives to God,” he said.

Pastor Matende, who is also the leader of the International Church of Jesus Christ, took a swipe at church leaders who claim to have salvation.

“Let’s continue observing biblical doctrines and we should not be fooled by anyone, it is God Himself who gave us salvation.

“It is God Himself, who is responsible for our salvation, and hakuna munhu anofanira kuzvitutumaadza saying he created the salvation.

“In this song, we are asking for the same power, which He gave to apostles like Peter and Paul, among others, so that we can fully understand His divine power and be able to pray.”

Pastor Matende is a married man who has been blessed with three children.

Asked about plans for the festive season he said: “We are expected to go to Botswana for some live performances and also, as the leader of the church, we will celebrate Christmas as a church.

“We will unite with fellow musicians like Bethan Pasinawako-Ngolomi, Vashumiri Vedenga and Followers of Christ among others.

“I have also worked on another song titled, ‘Bvunzai Mweya,’ which will hit the market soon.”

Pastor Matende believes his music will change the lives of many if he gets a fair share of airplay.

“My target is to win lost souls.

“Our main challenge is to continue looking for sponsors. “We are facing financial challenges and we need money for studio time,” he said.

The song Tipeio Simba has an accompanying video.

To date he has three albums to his credit – Anointed Scriptures, Ndiye Mwari and Torima Munda.
