PASTORS in Bulawayo have said there is a need for the nation to set aside a prayer day to thank God for this year’s bumper harvest.
In an interview, Pastor Samuel Mabhena from Golden Gates Ministries said their wish is for President Mugabe to set aside a day for the nation to express gratitude to God for the bumper harvest.
“We are appealing to the president to set aside a day for giving thanks to God for the good harvest that we experienced as a nation.
“We are asking his Excellency to issue a day for all the churches to pray and thank God for helping us. In Zimbabwe we have freedom of worship because of his Excellency’s efforts,” said Pastor Mabhena.
He said they have engaged other pastors from the Holiness Ministries in Ntabazinduna and they are in agreement with their proposal.
Pastor Mabhena said pastors also wanted to meet the President as he is doing with the country’s youths.
“We would want the president to have tea with us as pastors.
“We love our president, we support him and we support his vision for this country, but as pastors we have never met him in person so we are asking for an opportunity to sit down and have tea with him,” he said.
He also urged all the churches in Zimbabwe to set aside time on Sundays to pray against road accidents.
“We believe these deaths are caused by evil spirits. Evil spirits are so powerful and they are the ones that are causing these many deaths that we are experiencing in Zimbabwe.
“We are asking every church to take about 30 minutes to pray for this country and exorcise these spirits,” he said.
