Mukamba’s manager, Gibson Mahachi, said the player was expected to rejoin his Dynamos teammates today after his trial period at Super Diski side Bidvest Wits ended yesterday. Chief striker, Takesure Chinyama, returned home last night after passing his medical tests at Orlando Pirates.
While the technical team appeared relieved with the return of Chinyama, Pasuwa, however, did not have answers on Mukamba’s availability.
“I don’t know. I am still waiting to hear from them, but Takesure was saying that he should be here at training tomorrow (today).
“We wanted Denver to be in the team, but with the current situation if he doesn’t make it for the training tomorrow morning, then that could be something else,” said Pasuwa.
The Dynamos camp also suffered a blow with the suspension of holding midfielders Devon Chafa and Timire Mamvura who are on Caf sanctions.
Mamvura was shown a red card in the first leg of Caf Champions League second round clash against Esperance while Chafa is sitting on yellow cards.
The technical team may find themselves in a dilemma to fill the void as Milton Makopa and Leo Kurauzvione are still to recover. The duo trained with the rest of their teammates yesterday, but Pasuwa is still concerned about their fitness.
Veteran midfielder Murape Murape is also struggling to shake off an injury.
“From long back, our preparations have been hampered by injuries.
“It has been difficult to get all the players together at once as some were always on and off because of these injuries. But as for this week, so far so good. Everyone is here and training although it seems there are still a few who are yet to recover fully,” said Pasuwa. The team is expected to step up the preparations this morning and
Dynamos secretary-general Raymond Kazembe said they will not take the Angolan outfit lightly. Kazembe said the Glamour Boys needed to utilise home advantage to reduce pressure on their side when they travel to Luanda in a fortnight.
“Interclube are not a small team and judging from their previous performances, I think it’s not a side that anyone can just brush aside so easily.
“I am sure they are taking this game seriously and we have to make home advantage count,” said Kazembe.
Interclube are perennial campaigners in the tournament, with more than seven appearances in the last decade.
They were semi-finalists last year and their campaign came to an end when they lost to holders Maghreb de Fes of Morocco. However, the Angolans found it difficult when they faced Zimbabwean opponents in Mwana Africa during the 2007 edition when they lost the first leg 2-0 here and went on to draw 0-0 in the reverse fixture to crash out at the preliminary stage. Kazembe called on the fans to rally behind the team.
“We urge our fans to come in their numbers and cheer the team all the way. As much as some would like to think that this is a less glamourous tournament to the Champions League, and therefore an easy one, that can be a wrong approach,” said Kazembe.
Dynamos treasurer, Moses Chikwariro, said tickets have been pegged at US$5 for the rest of the ground while fans will have to part with US$10 to watch from the Upper Grand Stand. The VIP ticket costs US$20 and not more than 75 people will be allowed into the VVIP enclosure, which is strictly by invitation.
