CHAMPIONSHIP winning Dynamos coach Callisto Pasuwa has come under fire from concerned club officials who accuse him of unfair negotiating practices by taking advantage of his position in the national team bench to entice players into joining his club.Pasuwa is the first assistant to head coach Ian Dibango Gorowa.
A fuming Chicken Inn secretary Tawengwa Hara said they are disturbed as clubs by Pasuwa’s conduct and urged him to rise above club duties and be a national team coach.
“We really got uncomfortable when we learnt that Pasuwa met and discussed terms with Kudakwashe Mahachi. Mahachi might not be our player since he will be out of contract but we have other players there,” said Hara.
Dynamos wants to beef up its squad for the Caf Champions League campaign, a campaign that has been disastrous in the last two seasons.
“The final squad that will travel to South Africa for the Chan tournament next year has not been picked and it’s hard for the players to ignore him (Pasuwa) in fear of being left out of the travelling party.
“In future we might be reluctant to release our players for national team duty if coaches do these sort of things,” said Hara.
DeMbare are also said to be eyeing Highlanders’ utility player Milton Ncube, Peter Moyo and Hwange’s Erick Chipeta who all happen to be in camp with the squad in Harare.
Early last week Soccer Star of the Year second runner up Kudakwashe Mahachi was quoted confirming that he met Pasuwa over a possible move from the Joe Antipas-coached Bulawayo side.
Repeated efforts to contact Pasuwa were fruitless since Friday last week as his mobile number was not reachable after head coach Ian Gorowa gagged the team from talking to the media insisting that only Tuesdays and Thursday were the days that the media will talk about the camp.
