PATHWAY Group of Schools has marked a significant milestone in its commitment to providing quality education, with the unveiling of its AI-enhanced campus and a new fleet of buses.

Speaking at the combined junior and senior school prize-giving day ceremony, Acting Head of Senior School, Mr Joseph Marume, said the school has invested heavily in technology and infrastructure to provide students with a holistic learning experience.

“The Government alone cannot meet the demands of education, so we have aligned ourselves with Education 5.1, complementing the efforts of the Government,” Mr Marume said.

The school has introduced interactive boards, state-of-the-art microscopes, and robotics in its ICT and computer sciences curriculum, adopting the STEM approach to education.

“We are trying to develop our students holistically,” Mr Marume said, highlighting the school’s focus on academics, music, drama, speech, and sports.

The event showcased students’ talents, with awards given in various categories, demonstrating the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.

Pathway Group of Schools’ initiative is part of Zimbabwe’s broader efforts to integrate AI and digital literacy into its education system.

Mr Marume described the initiative as a significant step forward for learners and the wider district. He hailed the Government’s Heritage-based model, which empowers students with essential skills and knowledge to build the nation.

The head of the junior school, Mrs Hefa Chirisa, said the school has seen a 100% pass rate since 2015, and she anticipates another successful year.

“We’re promoting the Government’s curriculum, teaching learners about their culture and equipping them with 21st-century skills.

“We’re teaching AI and other essential skills to ensure our students thrive,” she said.

This move aligns with Zimbabwe’s broader efforts to integrate AI and digital literacy into its education system.

The Government has announced plans to introduce AI lessons at Early Childhood Development (ECD) level, aiming to equip learners with digital skills from an early age.
