MUSICIAN Pauline Gundidza has joined the fight against sexual harassment in the workplace by composing a song, ‘Nemusana’, which promotes respect, dignity and love in the workplace.
The song was released as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, and Pauline hopes that it will help reduce sexual harassment in workplaces.
As an artist and activist, who was a victim of sexual harassment, Pauline hopes that her song will help to expose the actions of perpetrators and speak on behalf of women, who are experiencing sexual harassment in the workplace.
Pauline said she was harassed by a former theatre director in 2019.
“Everyone must be treated with respect,” she said.
“This, indeed, helps address sexual harassment in workplaces.
“The 16 Days of Activism serve to look into issues of gender-based violence which we are living with in our society.
“Some people feel it is a dead subject because so many people are actually experiencing it, but not speaking out or acting on it.
“As someone who was once in the same situation, I know how it feels, so all I can say is once you value and treat someone with respect, then together as a nation we will be able to fight domestic violence.”
