PAVCON Industries chief executive, Shelton Paza, reckons he has won the hearts of corporates and notable brands on the local scene due to his business acumen.

Paza made these remarks in his acceptance speech during the Zimbabwe CEO Awards in Harare where he scooped the Outstanding CEO Award (Gold), courtesy of the CEO Network of Zimbabwe.

“My appreciation goes out to the Zimbabwe CEO Awards and organisers of this event.

“This award is a symbol of dedication and hard work exhibited by the team at Pavcon Industries from the top right to the base,” he said.

Paza said they had customers at heart, which is what drives them to keep working hard.

“At Pavcon, we strive to give our customers the best durable products to enhance customer experience of the Pavcon product, hence, when we are recognised at such premier awards like this one, we are grateful,” he said.

Paza founded Pavcon in 2005.

It specialises in the manufacturing of concrete products like interlocking pavers, compressed common bricks, precast security walls, an assortment of concrete bricks, walling sundry, and drainage pipes, among a host of other products.

The Zimbabwe CEO Awards recognises excellence and leadership accomplishments in the country, including those with non-profit governance experience.

The awards honour outstanding brands and leaders who make Zimbabwe great.

Paza, who hails from Mamina, Mhondoro-Ngezi in Mashonaland West province, has grown from strength-to-strength, through his paving business. It has seen him defy the odds and dominate the tough construction industry.

Paza has also changed the lives of those around the community in Mupereki, Mamina, through sponsorship of various sporting activities, which have helped give rural youths some hope.

He runs the Pavcon Sports Tournament, as a campaign tool in the fight against drug abuse by youths in his home village.

To date, two tournaments under the Pavcon banner have been held successfully.

Paza has already pledged to sponsor the tournament annually.
