strictly platonic as she revealed that at the moment they are just good friends.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror she said: “He is a really sweet, lovely guy. I’m a fan of One Direction. We have been friends for a year-and-a-half.”
Leona (27) is well aware that Liam (19) recently said: “I do have a crush on Leona, she’s hot! I have met her. She’s hot. I haven’t eaten dinner with her though.”
But she is reluctant to talk about her love life having faced heartbreak several times throughout her career.
After dating long-term boyfriend and childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa for seven years, they broke up amid reports that the ex-electrician couldn’t handle her celebrity status and fame.
She also ended an 18-month affair with German dancer Dennis Jauch and blamed her busy schedule for the split.
Despite all of this Leona is still hopeful about finding love and described what she looks for in her ideal man.
She told the newspaper: “Someone who can look after me and who is honest and faithful. I don’t really care about looks. It’s all about personality and intelligence.”
Liam, who recently broke up with long-term girlfriend Danielle Peazer, will be happy to know that even though Leona is a superstar she is still down to earth.
Leona told the newspaper: “I like to be wooed. I’m a good girlfriend, not high maintenance but I like to be treated well. I think every girl does. I like romance.”
The rumoured romance between Leona and Liam is said to have culminated in a series of dates after the young male singer asked her out.
A source told The Sunday Mirror: “As soon as the chance came to ask her out he grabbed it — and they really enjoyed their dates together.
“Although they were in London they managed to stay out of the limelight and are really into each other.” — Daily Mail.
