ZANU PF Secretary-General, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, has encouraged Provincial Coordinating Committees to take the lead in monitoring Government projects and providing feedback that informs national decision-making.
He made the call at the ZANU PF Mashonaland East PCC meeting in Marondera yesterday.
“Comrades, as we advance towards the full realisation of Vision 2030, the responsibility of our provinces becomes even more decisive,” he said.
“Development must be inclusive, visible and impactful. Consequently, it is the responsibility of the PCC to monitor projects, enforce accountability and provide honest feedback that informs national decision-making.
“You must remain the eyes and ears of the party and Government on the ground. This interface, therefore, marks the beginning of a renewed phase of discipline, coordination and action within our party structures.”
Going forward, Adv Mudenda said the PCC, together with the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), should develop clear and implementable action plans, strengthen administrative systems, improve communication, submit regular reports, and ensure that all party directives are fully executed.
He emphasised the importance of unity within the party.
“Above all, unity must remain our greatest strength. We should reject any form of factionalism, tribalism, regionalism, indiscipline, and all conduct that brings the party into disrepute. We must foster discipline, constructive and progressive engagement that advances the party’s vision and mission.
“Let us intensify ideological orientation, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and ensure that our structures remain active, responsive and connected to the people at all levels,” added Adv Mudenda.
He challenged delegates to renew their commitment to diligently serve the party and the nation.
“The task before us is clear: it is to build a united, disciplined and ideologically grounded party that translates policy into tangible improvements in the lives of the people.
“Let us, therefore, leave this gathering with renewed commitment, with a unity of purpose, and determined to serve with dedication, discipline and integrity.”
Addressing development, Adv Mudenda urged the PCC to prioritise ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.
“Let us ensure that development reaches every community so that indeed, no place and no one is left behind. Together, through hard work, organisation and unwavering commitment to duty, we shall continue to build a vibrant and prosperous party that is always at the service of the nation,” he said.
ZANU PF Mashonaland East Provincial Chairman, Cde Daniel Garwe, expressed strong support for the resolution seeking for President Mnangagwa to remain in office beyond 2028.
“As a province, we are in total support of Vision 2030. As Mashonaland East province, we have seen the great developments achieved under the Second Republic under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.
“Also, as a province, we saw it prudent for us to be champions of Vision 2030, and that President Mnangagwa should be in office until 2030 and even beyond,” said Cde Garwe.
