Peace order application dismissed

A HARARE woman yesterday left court in a bitter mood after a peace order application, against her husband’s girlfriend, was dismissed.

Last week, the suspected husband’s girlfriend, Marvis Mukayi, approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a peace order, against Elizabeth Chari.

Marvis was being accused of sending romantic messages to Elizabeth’s husband. However, Elizabeth applied for a counter peace order against Marvis, citing physical abuse.

Elizabeth also accused Marvis of wrecking her marriage.

She pleaded with the court to help her end the relationship.

“She must stop sending romantic messages to my husband.

“Ever since she started having an affair with my husband, there is no peace in my home.

“The relationship must end by force because my husband no longer brings money home,” Elizabeth said.

In response, Marvis said:

“She is just pained because my peace order against her was granted.”

In her ruling, magistrate Rutendo Machingura, dismissed Elizabeth’s application.

She said Elizabeth’s husband is not a child to be ordered around.
