Pedestrian sustains injuries after hit-and-run incident

AN unknown motorist fled from the scene after he hit a pedestrian at a bus stop.

In a statement, police said the suspect hit the victim (42) around 12:10 am on 24 December 2023 at George Bus Stop, Mabvuku, along Harare-Mutare Road.

The victim was taken for treatment to Parirenyatwa Hospital after he sustained a fractured elbow and a deep cut on the cheek.

“In a hit-and-run road traffic accident case which occurred at George Bus stop, Mabvuku, along Harare-Mutare Road on 24/12/23 at around 0010 hours, an unidentified motorist hit a man (42) and sped off towards Harare. The victim sustained a fractured elbow and a deep cut on the cheek and was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment,” reads the statement.
