SCORES of people yesterday thronged the ZRP stand at the ongoing Mashonaland Central Province Agricultural Show following the grisly murder and mutilation of a mother by her son.

Mashonaland Central provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Milton Mundembe, said the diabolical incident had shocked people who now wanted to know what exactly transpired.

“Police are exhibiting at this agricultural show, but a number of people visiting are keen to know about the death of the Trojan Mine woman,” said Insp Mundembe.

“We continue to urge people to closely monitor the behaviour of their children.

“Some youths are abusing drugs, thereby committing crimes like murder, rape, robbery and domestic violence.

“We are urging people to continue visiting our stand for more information on preventing child marriages, drug abuse, vandalism of State property and other crimes.

“Parents and guardians are urged to come to this agricultural show to get more information to keep up with technology and join police in fighting crime,” he said.

The Mashonaland Central Province Agricultural Show started on Wednesday and ends tomorrow.

It is running under the theme “Promoting value chains for economic development”.
