Pep doesn’t want City to win Champs League

MUNICH. — Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn says Pep Guardiola will not want Manchester City to win the Champions League before he takes over at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola, who will succeed Manuel Pellegrini as City’s manager in the summer, guided Bayern into the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition on Wednesday, courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate victory over Benfica.

The German champions could now come up against City in the last four, with the draw due to be made in Nyon today, presenting an awkward situation for Guardiola.

Kahn, who made 103 Champions League appearances for Bayern over the course of his career, thinks the Spaniard will be desperate to become the first man to steer his next club to the Champions League title.

“I don’t believe that Guardiola wants to go to Manchester City and they are already Champions League winners,” he told Focus.

“Otherwise he cannot do it himself.” — Mailonline.
