UTAKATAKA Express leader, Peter Moyo, has released an album featuring eight female artistes.
He adopted the new moniker DJ Mapepetso on this project.
Peter hopes he will connect well with his fans with this new album titled “Mixed Bag Album Volume 2.”
He is probably the first Zimbabwean artist to collaborate with eight women on one album.
The divas include Chipo Muchegwa, Diana Samkange, Natasha Muz, Wanai, Sasha Madhuve, Soulful Leah, Lindsay Chamangurangura and Ninja Lipsy.
“I am feeling thankful, I would like to thank them for being part of this album for it is special to me.
“It’s not easy kuunganidza eight female artists on one project but their commitment was out of this world.
“At the moment, I’m expressing myself and my main aim is the local market to also appreciate my type of craft that is not sungura.
“When I’m writing songs, such music and messages come in my mind and haiimbike kuSungura so I thought of writing the songs and let the ladies do the songs,” he said.
The album consists of conscious, soul and Afro-beat sounds.
Peter featured Lindsay on the opening track titled ‘‘Wenhamo’’.
Mbira princess Sasha Amadhuve combined forces with him on the track ‘‘Sepwere Takungura’’.
He worked with Chipo on the song ‘‘Little Things’’. On the fourth track ‘‘Handidi Newe’’, Ninja Lipsy added variety.
Diana Samkange proved her versatility on the love song called Megga Love.
Zim Hip Hop sensation, Natasha Muz, embraced Peter’s initiative when she featured him on the track Candle of Love.
Songbird Wanai featured him on the song ‘‘Mumoyo Mangu’’.
