Harare at the Sports Diner since the death of his father.
This is Peter’s maiden gig in Harare at the helm of the Utakataka Express and fans of the group will want to see how the 22-year-old musician will fare when it comes to filling in the void created by his father’s death.
Dubbed “Quad 11” Special, the show has all the elements of a thriller with organisers describing it as a unique gig.
“We decided to call the show “Quad 11” because it will be happening on November 11. November is the eleventh month of the year, we are in 2011 and Peter will be going on stage at 11pm.
“As you can see there are four elevens in the whole set-up, hence the decision to call the show Quad 11,” a spokesperson of the organisers of the show said.
There will be various other supporting acts at the show and this is also probably the first time that Peter will play with a number of supporting acts since his ascent to the helm of the group.
The show comes hot on the heels of Peter’s performances at the Midlands Hotel in Gweru on Friday last week.
With talented chanter Shiga Shiga in tow, Peter will have a reliable sidekick whose experience with working with Utakataka Express dating back to Tongai’s days will come in handy on stage.
It seems Peter is getting better with each outing and this is what the young man needs at the moment in order to refine his act and finally fit into his late father’s music shoes.
He is expected to belt out crowd favourites like “Samanyemba”, “Ganda Remvura”, “Naye” as well as songs featured on his father’s last album “Toita Basa”.
