THREE women cheated death when a car belonging to legendary footballer Peter Ndlovu they were travelling in was involved in an accident in Bulawayo yesterday afternoon. The accident occurred at the intersection of Leopold Takawira Avenue and Josiah Tongogora Street after 4pm next to the Tower Block.

It could not be established last night who was driving the vehicle, a maroon Nissan Navara with South African registration numbers XNT039GP.

The three women reportedly escaped with minor injuries.
According to witnesses, the driver of the Navara lost control  resulting in the vehicle landing on its right side.

Last night Chronicle newsroom was inundated with calls from members of the public asking whether it was true that Ndlovu’s car was involved in an accident.

The Internet was also awash with pictures of the damaged car.
A member of the Ndlovu family who asked not to be named confirmed that the car belonged to Peter but declined to give details on the accident.

Contacted for comment, Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo said he did not have details of how the accident occurred.
Last year in December, Peter was involved in an accident near Victoria Falls that claimed the lives of his brother, Adam and a female friend, Nomqhele Tshili.

At the moment Peter is based in South Africa where he is the manager of Premier League club, Mamelodi Sundowns.
