The Plumtree Town’s most enrolled high school, Phakamani, on Wednesday celebrated the arrival of its new, state-of-the-art bus, which was purchased through School Development Committee (SDC) funds last year.

The 72-seater Asiastar bus was acquired in 2025 through a special levy from parents, a process that took almost two years to complete.

According to school officials, the bus will be used for educational trips, sports, and other field trips. The bus boasts special specifications, including charging ports, seven LED TVs, and CCTV cameras.

Learners and teachers alike showed great excitement upon seeing the bus.

Mr Danisa Nkomo, the District Schools Inspector for Mangwe thanked the community for their commitment and encouraged them to continue contributing towards such projects.
