Principal Dr Nathaniel Madzivanyika Speech
I still remember when it all started on the 1st of July 1990 in a single classroom at the Cathedral of St Mary’s and All Saints in the Heart of Harare with only one teacher, who was also the secretary and bursar, the principal and name all the departments you can ever think of in a well-orchestrated school set-up.

The resources were limited and I was still a boy with only preliminary education, but I was determined to go forward and I did, which is evident with what we are witnessing and celebrating today. The journey was long, was challenging, but hard work, perseverance and discipline took us this far.

From the time we started to this day, the school has covered a long and evolutionary journey which today we marvel and say wow! What a school. We rented properties and things were not always rosy.

However, I believe that all the obstacles we came across were just but refining moments to get a fine jewel as well as to create some shock absorbers for the bumpy road.

God being God does not work with laziness, he works with people who also put some effort.

The narration of all these events is not to seek sympathy, but to encourage and inspire someone to do something to our children here present. You can make it if you play straight and are disciplined and try to avoid being a cry-baby, a drug addict, or a bully, but to have focus. My philosophy is that the sky is not the limit for beyond the sky there is heaven above.
The anniversary saw the introduction of high and junior school head boys, head girls and prefects.
