Pirate taxis a menace in Bulawayo

MAY I bring to your attention the concerning issue around the conduct of pirate taxi operators in Bulawayo. These reckless drivers are taking advantage of the current transport shortage, creating an alarming situation for the public.

Not only do these operators drive at dangerously high speeds, but they also blast loud music, making the experience unbearable for passengers.

Their rudeness and lack of professionalism further exacerbate the situation, leaving many feeling harassed and unsafe during their journeys.

It is high time that formal commuter operators, such as Tshova Mubaiwa and Bupta, step up their game and expand their fleets to meet the growing demand for safe and reliable transportation.

We need more legitimate options for commuters to avoid falling prey to these reckless pirate operators.

Additionally, I urge the police to take decisive action against these illegal taxi drivers. A stronger presence on our roads and strict enforcement of the law will help restore order and safety for all residents.
