England-born Zimbabwean boxer Peter Croudace, continues to blaze a trail in the boxing world, adding another feather to his cap with a unanimous victory at the Ryton Show over the weekend. Known in the ring as “Pistol Pete”, the rising star has quickly earned a reputation for his explosive talent and razor-sharp focus, solidifying his status as one of boxing’s brightest young prospects.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports Hub, Peter’s father Bongani Sibanda said he is proud of his son’s progress and believes the sky is the limit for the prodigious fighter.
“What sets Peter apart is his unique blend of intelligence and strength. With his current trajectory, I have no doubt he will become a world-class boxer, perhaps even rivalling the greats like Floyd Mayweather,” said Sibanda.
With Peter’s career on an upward path, Sibanda revealed they’re already planning to give back by launching a boxing academy in Zimbabwe, to nurture the country’s next generation of champions.
“As Peter’s career continues to soar, he and I share a dream of establishing a boxing academy in Zimbabwe. We believe that with proper training and exposure, Zimbabwean youth can excel in the sport. Our academy would provide a platform for talented young boxers to hone their skills and reach their full potential.”
Sibanda said Peter’s latest victory was not just a personal milestone but also a symbol of shared vision and sacrifice.
“As Peter looks to the future, he knows that his father’s aspirations are just as important as his own. Together, we will work towards making our vision a reality, bringing opportunities and recognition to the talented youth of Zimbabwe.
With every punch Peter threw, he knew he was not only fighting for himself but also for the dreams of his father and the potential of a new generation of Zimbabwean boxers.”
