MAMELODI Sundowns players Cuthbert Malajila, Mogakolodi Ngele and Kwanda Mngonyama are said to be facing a bleak future.
According to an insider at the club, the players were downgraded to the reserve team as theyare not registered with the first team. This means they will be campaigning in the Multichoice Diski Challenge instead of rubbing shoulders with other stars in the Absa Premiership.
Explained the source: a?The players are frustrated by the situation theyare in.
a?They were disappointed that the coach (Pitso Mosimane) opted to downgrade them instead of loaning them to other teams in the league as per norm at Sundowns.a?
Ngele and Malajila were allegedly surprised that they were not in the coachas plans after their loan spell with league champions Bidvest Wits expired in June.
Added the source: a?The players were prepared to stay with Wits as they enjoyed their loan stint there.
a?But they had no choice but to return to Sundowns after Wits management failed to get them on a permanent basis.a?
Ngele from Botswana joined Sundowns in 2015 from Platinum Stars, while Zimbabwean international, Malajila, has been with the Brazilians for four years.
Mngonyama was also on loan to Maritzburg United last season.
Downs manager, Yogesh Singh, was not available for comment at the time of going to print.
Mosimaneas side will face Stars who are desperate to move away from the relegation zone.
But Stars coach Roger de Saas lads will need to pull up their socks if they are to register their first win of the season, especially against the seven times Premier Soccer League champions.
Stars have to guard against Downs attack led by Percy Tau, Khama Billiat and Hlompho Kekana. – KickOff.com .
