Platinum Classic tees off

PRIDE Sembo, who impressed in the first two rounds of the Golden Pilsener Harare Open, will be hoping for a good show at the Platinum Classic in Norton today. The former Norton Country Club member will be back, where he started it all, when the two-day event tees of today.

Sembo blew his chances of winning the Harare Open after a disappointing last round of 81.

The Platinum Classic is the last Mashonaland West Golf Union event for the year which carries national points

Sembo will battle it out with the likes of Gerald Shwabane, who is also formerly of Norton, who is now based at Royal Harare.

The tournament will see the amateur golfers play 36 holes today and 18 holes tomorrow.

Visitor Mapwanya, the best amateur at the Harare Open, and Perkins Mutenda and Tonderai Masunga are set to make their presence felt.
