Allen Gahadzikwa thrust the visitors ahead after 13 minutes, taking advantage of some sloppy marking by Sikhumbulani Dube who gave Benjamin Marere a lot of time in the box to shake him off and cross.
Gahadzikwa did the rest beating Tapiwanashe Marime in goals for Quelaton.
FC Platinum could have gone two up a minute later when the slippery Marere set up Joel Ngodzo whose shot was deflected by Quelaton defender Zibusiso Sibanda for a corner.
Quelaton survived another scare seven minutes later when William Manondo lobbed the ball over Marime but his effort bounced on the crossbar.
The impressive Manondo, who is set to go places with his game, finally got it right when he unleashed a ferocious strike that hit the underside of the crossbar to beat Marime in the 33rd minute.
This was the player’s second goal in two matches after returning from his Gunners loan spell.
Five minutes after the break, Dube pulled down Manondo in the box and referee Nkosana Nduna initially played advantage before pointing to the spot and Ali Sadiki sent Marime the wrong way to make it 3-0 for the visitors.
Ngodzo made it four in the 74th minute with a 30-metre screamer.
FC Platinum coach, Tendai Chikuni, said it was good outing for his team.
“Last week we beat Blue Rangers and today it is Quelaton, I am happy for the team more so for our youngsters who are tasting first team action and are doing well.
“What makes this victory all the sweeter is that this is our first win in Bulawayo since last year and I am happy,” Chikuni said.
