PLATINUM WALL

CHAMPIONS FC Platinum’s strong campaign to win their fourth straight league title has been built on a strong defensive foundation.

And their goalkeeper, Wallace Magalane, has been a huge part of that.

On Saturday, the ‘keeper kept his 10th consecutive clean sheet.

This means that he has now gone 900 minutes without conceding a goal.

The champions have won NINE of their last 10 league matches.

They only dropped points in the goalless draw against Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium.

The last time they conceded a goal was in the 0-1 defeat to Herentals on April 30.

ZIFA media officer Liberty Mugari posted on Instagram that FC Platinum’s goalkeepers’ coach Tembo ‘Chokry’ Chuma believes this is his best run as a gaffer.

“Chokry says this is his personal best though he once achieved 18 cumulative clean sheets in a season with Ariel Sibanda at Highlanders,” posted Mugari.

During his impressive run, Magalane has helped FC Platinum to a 2-0 win over Harare City, 1-0 win over ZPC Kariba, a goalless draw against DeMbare, a 1-0 win over Bulawayo Chiefs, 3-0 win over Chicken Inn, a 2-0 win over Tenax, 1-0 win over Cranborne Bullets, 4-0 win over Triangle United, 2-0 win over Yadah Stars and 3-0 win over CAPS United.
