Highlanders fans in particular have with each passing week developed a soft spot for his combative and visionary play.
As if this is not enough, following his top drawer performance last Sunday when Bosso completed a league double against their arch rivals Dynamos, some Bosso fans claimed Peter a�?Stabilisea�? Muduhwa (23) reminded them of their former captain Dazzy Kapenya, a cool and intelligent defender who played with so much aplomb in the heart of Highlandersa�� rearguard.
Hailing from Bulawayoa��s high density suburb of Pumula North, Muduhwa (23) is arguably Bossoa��s man of the moment and lives toA�inspire young footballers to stay focused and pursue their dreams.
He spoke to B-Metro Sport reporter Fungai Muderere (FM).
FM: Tell us about yourself
PM: I was born at Luveve Clinic in Bulawayo and attended Godlwayo Primary School and Pumula High School in Pumula. I started playing football in Grade Two.
FM: From the junior ranks to the top flight, how has the road been like?
PM: I started at Boot Laces and I had all the necessary support from my family members. I also played for MK Lions and Mpopoma based Ajax Hotspurs in the junior ranks. I was also in the Pumula High School team together with Tsholotsho FCa��s Thando Ncube.
FM: As a competitive athlete, you have a strict diet. What does it comprise of?
PM: I eat a lot of fruits and I take a lot of energy drinks.
FM: Following your off the ball much publicised incidents against CAPS Uniteda��s Leonard Tsipa and with Chicken Inn players Obadiah Tarumbwa and Elvis Chipezeze, many local football enthusiasts have branded you a a�?bad boya�?. Tell us about your personality.
PM: Ia��m not a bad boy. The fact is I always refuse to be intimidated by an opponent and I hate losing. I want to win each and every time and with regards to the Tsipa incident, I openly told him that he was not going to score in that particular match. This was after he had elbowed me several times trying to intimidate me. However, I kept on telling him that he was under lock and key and he consequently lost his temper and elbowed me on the face. The development was noticed by the match officials hence the red card that he got. I never insulted him as he claimed.
FM: What is your advice to up-and-coming players?
PM: Stay focused because against all odds it can still be done, despite the challenges that one will be facing.
FM: What is your target for the season?
PM: Ita��s to end the season with a championship and Ia��m just looking forward to maintaining my form. Ia��m not looking forward to any other things like making it into the Soccer Stars of The Year list because the selectors are there to decide. With regards to the national team, if the coaches think I am ready for that I am up for it.
FM: Which local team did you grow up supporting?
PM: Highlanders
FM: Internationally?
PM: l am with Ghana, at club level Manchester United and Real Madrid. In South Africa I support Orlando Pirates.
