Players knew of Moyes’ fate

LONDON. — Manchester United players were aware of manager David Moyes’ imminent departure BEFORE Sunday’s dismal defeat at Everton.
Mirror Sport can reveal United players were telling friends they were adamant that their manager would be “sacked within days” on the eve of the 2-0 loss, having heard of significant developments within the Old Trafford hierarchy.
There are also suggestions from sources close to the United dressing-room that Moyes may have already known that the Glazer family had decided to axe him before the game at Goodison, but was determined to face the fury of the supporters of the club he quit for United before he departed.

United’s shocking performance at the weekend was said to have been the final straw for the club’s owners on Monday when news broke of his imminent departure — but the decision had actually been made before the trip to Merseyside.

The vast majority of United players were never convinced by the Scot’s ability to keep them at the top of English football — with doubts over his authoritarian, man-management style and his negative approach to preparing them for matches. — The Mirror.
