SHE has five kids, including some triplets, but Linda Nyakanga says she doesn’t know where their next meal will come from.
Four of her children are under the age of five.
Her eldest kid is just 14.
The 39-year-old, who stays in Dzivaresekwa Extension, says her family desperately needs a helping hand from any Good Samaritans.
Three years ago, she gave birth to triplets and she says her plight became worse.
“Things are very hard and many times I just cannot afford to feed my kids,” Nyakanga said.
“I don’t have money to even buy diapers for the triplets.”
Her 14-year-old daughter recently ran away from home saying she could no longer stand the family’s poverty.
She is now living with a married man, something which is troubling Nyakanga.
“The first time she ran away, I followed her and brought her home but this time she has refused to listen,” she said.
“I am afraid because her life is at risk, she was once abused when she was 13 years-old and I fought until the case was finalised and the perpetrator was arrested.
“I’m afraid that history might repeat itself.”
She said she does not have money to send her teenage daughter to school.
Nyakanga also suffers from a heart condition that requires regular medication, which she often cannot afford.
“When I had my triplets, I had complications which resulted in this heart problem, hence I need the people of Zimbabwe to help me,” she pleaded.
“I fear that if I do not get any help I might not be able to send my triplets to school.
“I am pleading with the people of Zimbabwe to help me start something to help myself and my children.
“Because of the poverty we are living in, my kids, especially my first daughter, think I am abusing them.”
