ZIFA Southern Region Division One champions Plumtree Chiefs have shot to the top of the log standings after walking over Kwabwe Warrios at home for failing to produce licences. The Thulani Sibanda coached outfit are now leading the pack with 10 points from four games. Chiefs will be hoping to repeat last season’s heroics where they took the lead and never looked back, though this time promotion won’t be top priority.
Championship chasing Technosphere and Black Boots dropped points.
Technosphere were held to a goalless draw by Ntabazinduna Prison while Support Unit outfit Black Boots lost 1-2 to Hwange Juniors in their second loss so far. Newcomers Nust, Kwabwe Warriors and Old Nic Mine are still searching for victory since joining the league.
Meanwhile, the Tsholotsho-Zimbabwe Saints match was postponed to tomorrow.
Results: Old Nic Mine 0-2 ZPC Hwange; Ntabazinduna 0-0 Technosphere; Elephant FC 2-1 New West; Zim Saints v Tsholotsho (Postponed), Trumus1-1 Mpumalanga; Hwange Juniors 2-1 Black Boots; Quelaton 0-0 Portland Cement; Kabwe Warriors 0-3 Plumtree Chiefs
