THE Plumtree District Soccer League Committee has invited secondary schools to join them as existing teams have failed to formalise their activities.Chairman of the league, Chakudza Mutarika said the league was now left with three teams.
“The teams which we had engaged in the first round of the league were social clubs and they were not forthcoming in playing competitive soccer. We tried to convince them to formalise their activities by licensing their players but they did not comply.
“Only three teams have formalised their activities and these are the teams that form the league at the moment and we hope to get more players from secondary schools,” said Mutarika.
He said they had identified nine schools which would be invited to join the league. If everything goes according to plan, Bulu, Phakamani, Plumtree, Madlambuzi, Dombodema, Thekwane, Tshankwa, Ivimila and Cyrene Secondary Schools will be in the league.
