A PLUMTREE man who allegedly raped his teenage lover, her cousin and a friend has appeared in court.
Brighton Nzirambiri, 23, from Mathendele Extension, allegedly forced the girls, two aged 17 and the other 16, to have sex with him after accusing them of leading his girlfriend into prostitution.
He appeared before senior regional magistrate Mark Dzira yesterday facing three counts of rape and pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded in custody to today for continuation of trial.
Nzirambiri told the court the three girls consented to the “foursome” adding they each charged him $5.
“I did not rape the girls. Actually they refused to vacate my room when I chased them away. I even assaulted them to prove that I did not want anything to do with them but they begged me. I ended up letting them stay and we made supper and ate,” he said.
Nzirambiri said after eating, they retired to bed with only two blankets in his room.
“As we were talking, the girls undressed and asked me to have sex with them for $5 each. I agreed and reached for some condoms and had intercourse with them. The condom burst when I was on top of the third girl and that is all I can say for now,” he said.
The gallery had to be cleared when one of the girls took the witness stand as she is a juvenile. The trial continues today.
Prosecuting Tinashe Dzipe told the court that on Sunday, March 1 at around 9PM, Nzirambiri’s girlfriend visited her cousin near her home in the company of her friend.
The court heard the three girls went to Nzirambiri’s home and he later joined them in his bedroom.
He then allegedly started accusing the girls of “teaching” his girlfriend prostitution.
Dzipe said Nzirambiri assaulted the girls all over their bodies using an electric cord and fists and armed himself with a knife.
“Nzirambiri ordered the girls to undress and lie on his bed naked. He then raped his girlfriend once with a condom on,” said Dzipe.
After raping his girlfriend, Nzirambiri allegedly jumped to the second girl aged 16 and raped her once without a condom.
The court also heard that Nzirambiri raped the third girl twice afterwards.
