Poet celebrates versatility

A HARARE poet will be celebrating the fruits of hard work tomorrow when he unveils his debut musical album.

Tatenda “Hombarume The Giant” Tofarirepi, who believes in versatility, will hold his event at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre in Eastlea, Harare, tomorrow.

Despite living with a disability, and having been discriminated against in childhood, Hombarume hasn’t let that affect him.

He says it’s high time people treat both the able-bodied, and the disabled, with equal love.

He feels humbled to have renowned artists like Albert Nyathi and Abel Mauchi gracing his event tomorrow.

Tatenda was born with a cerebral pulse, a condition that affects one’s muscles.

According to Tatenda, the album will stand as a voice for the disabled to be heard and supported in their careers.

The album launch was named “Chengaose” to highlight the equal provision of opportunities for the disabled and able-bodied.

“Poetry is family, it would be a great connection if poets and artists work together despite their condition.” Tatenda said.
