PREPARATIONS for the Poetic Dreams Heroes Day celebrations set for this Saturday at Amakhosi Theatre Cultural Square in Bulawayo are at an advanced stage with more than 30 local artistes having confirmed their participation. The show comes a week after the successful launch of the Poetic Dreams to Fame competition which attracted a large number of local artistes.
In an interview organiser of the event Mlamuli Moyo said preparations were going well and everything was in place as all artistes who are billed to perform have confirmed their participation.
He said admission for the family show was free and urged fans to come in their numbers on this special day.
“Preparations for the event are progressing well and fans should come in their large numbers as the event is for free. We have prepared top class entertainment for them as more than 30 local artistes have confirmed their participation. Definitely this is going to be a good family show,” he said.
Moyo said the musical extravaganza will also be spiced up with poets who would be taking turns to churn out their humorous satires.
“It will be a very big day as musicians and poets will be taking turns to entertain the crowd. A number of dance groups are also going to participate.
These include Thandanani Dance Group, Kasi Fusion, and Orthodox. Mncedisi Nyathi and Young Slizer are among the poets who will be participating.
“We want to provide entertainment for everyone and that is why we will be having dance groups, musicians of different genres and poets. This will be a family show and we will try to entertain both the old and the young.
“We had a successful launch of the Dreams to Fame competition. We are doing our best to encourage our artistes to dream big with this competition. The Heroes celebrations also provide a chance for fans to see their different artistes in action and get to know them,” added Moyo who is also spokesperson for Poetic Dreams Club.
