A SIZINDA woman turned her home into a fortress of fear after being caught red-handed, selling dagga to a 15-year-old schoolboy!
Precious Mary Duri (33), landed in court facing a charge of unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs, after detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics stormed her home — only for her to slam the door shut and stage a two-hour standoff!
On 28 March, around 12PM, detectives swooped in following a tip-off that Duri was running a backyard dagga business. Surveillance caught a teenage boy entering her house, and moments later, walking out with a suspicious bulge in his pocket.
Cops moved in, searched the boy, and found a sachet of dagga. When questioned, the boy sang like a bird — naming Duri as the dealer.
But when the detectives knocked at her gate, Duri caught sight of them and dashed inside like lightning, locking every door and window behind her.
“She went into full lockdown mode,” said a source close to the investigation. “Refused to open. Pretended she wasn’t home. But we knew she was watching us through the curtains.”
For over two hours, detectives knocked, shouted and waited — while Duri played hide-and-seek behind locked doors. Eventually, police secured a search warrant and broke in.
The search of the house turned up empty, but it was too late — the four grams of dagga recovered from the minor, valued at ZWG120, was evidence enough.
Duri pleaded not guilty when she appeared before magistrate Mehluli Moyo, and the case was remanded to 22 April 2025.
From a tip-off to a lockdown — this was one high drama bust Sizinda won’t forget in a hurry!
