Police in Harare have destroyed 292 894 kg of crystal meth, 171 024 kg of mbanje, 128 662 litres of cough syrups, 15 litres of illicit beverages, 77 kg of skin-lightening creams, 100 litres of illicit Zimbo Vodka, and 86 kg of various medicines as more drugs recovered from dealers continue to be destroyed.

This follows the conviction of the suspects in separate incidents this month.
In an interview, National Police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the developments.
“After the recent arrests by the ZRP, the conviction and sentencing of accused persons by the courts for drug and substance abuse, peddling, and trafficking, the ZRP coordinated the destruction of exhibits as directed by the Government.
“The ZRP reiterates that there is no turning back in the fight against drug and substance abuse in the country,” he said.
