THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Bulawayo Province has engaged mining and mining equipment business operators in a stakeholder meeting aimed at strengthening security and combating crime in the sector.
Officer Commanding Bulawayo Province Commissioner Jasper Chizemo, together with officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), led the engagement at the Senior Officers’ Mess at Ross Camp in Bulawayo.
In a brief statement, police said the meeting provided a platform for law enforcement officers and industry players to discuss challenges affecting mining operations, identify security concerns and explore measures to prevent crime and promote safety.
The engagement also sought to strengthen cooperation between the police and mining sector operators in addressing security challenges affecting the industry.
