Police get four vehicles

use in the accident-prone areas of Makuti and Chirundu border post.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Transport, Communications and Infrastructural Development Minister Nicholas Goche said the donation, which was made through the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe was a response to the high frequency of accidents in the area.
“The ZRP will find the vehicles very useful and help in reducing the fatalities and destruction of property and bring sanity on our roads,” he said.
The donation followed an appeal by the Kariba Traffic Consultative Committee early this year.
Police in Makuti had been hamstrung by the lack of transport.
